Peel police have laid 17 charges against a Brampton man following a drugs and firearms investigation.
On Wednesday, police received a warrant for a house near Bovaird Drive and Kennedy Road. They confiscated more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition, bulletproof vests, cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl, MDMA, methamphetamine, psilocybin, cannabis, hashish, cash, a nine milimetre carbine rifle and a 12-gauge shotgun.
“Possession of illegal firearms and drug trafficking is a dangerous combination and poses a significant risk to our communities. It cannot be tolerated and will continue to be a priority for our service,” said Nick Milinovich, deputy chief of investigations and emergency services.
Police have charged Jason Boodhoo, a 41-year-old man from Brampton, with 17 charges, including seven counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Boodhoo appeared in court on Thursday.
