BROCKTON – Mayor Chris Peabody drew council’s attention to an important matter during the Sept. 22 council meeting.
A public meeting has been scheduled for Oct. 13 concerning the proposed use and expansion of the former Energizer building on the west side of Walkerton, for a marijuana facility.
Peabody noted that letters have been sent to nearby property owners.
Some council members expressed concern about the possibility of a marijuana retail business located so close to schools, but there are no indications to date that anything other than a manufacturing facility is planned.
